When you’re planning an Asian wedding, choosing a photogenic venue is at the top of your to-do list . The venue serves as the centre-point for your wedding. When you’re planning an Asian wedding, choosing a photogenic venue is at the top of your to-do list

Weddings are becoming more and more customisable, and many traditions are now optional. But there’s one aspect of your wedding that is non-negotiable – finding the perfect venue.

The venue serves as the centre-point for your wedding. It will influence the look and feel of your photographs, as well impacting your budget for décor and clothes. With so many options to choose from, finding the perfect wedding venue isn’t easy. Whether you want a traditional Asian wedding venue with a large capacity, or a smaller intimate affair, there’s a lot to consider.

Many Asian weddings take place across several venues, so it’s important that all of them co-ordinate to give your wedding album a seamless look.

These are important factors in choosing the perfect venue for your Asian wedding:

Talk to a wedding planner before booking a venue

Talking to a planner before you even start looking at spaces can help you clarify what is and isn’t important in a venue. It’s easy to fall in love with a beautiful venue without considering its practicality for your wedding. Planners have the expertise to evaluate the capabilities of a space, how the layout can be used and how to decorate it. A planner with experience in Asian weddings will also be able to find you venues that regularly host Asian weddings. These venues usually have close partnerships with local vendors of food, entertainment and music, to ensure an unforgettable night.

Think about your guests’ experience

Impress your guests with a truly stunning venue that also meets their needs. If you want to stay true to tradition, you’ll need a large capacity venue with exemplary caterers. Try to find a venue that includes some services to eliminate hidden costs and last-minute stress. If you’re inviting guests from overseas, then a convenient location is essential. Consider a wedding venue that is near or connected to a hotel.

Stay true to your wedding vision

If you have an aesthetic in mind for your wedding, choose a venue that complements it. This may seem obvious, but sometimes the little details of a wedding can get in the way of the big picture. If you want a low-key, rustic wedding, consider a barn. If you want a truly showstopping day, consider an elegant hotel or manor house. Stylised wedding shoots are becoming more and more popular, so choose a venue that will provide the perfect back-drop to your theme.

It’s important that your venue is functional and beautiful. But ultimately, what matters the most is that you love it. Every couple is unique, so look for a venue that reflects both of your tastes. Choose a setting that channels your personalities, for wedding photos that truly capture your individuality.

Whatever venue you settle on, we offer bespoke wedding photography packages that will accentuate the beauty of the setting.

Providing the perfect time capsule for your day, wedding photography is one of the most important things to consider when you’re prepping for your wedding. Doing your research and choosing the right photographer is a sure-fire way to guarantee you’ll love your photographs. But it is completely normal to feel anxious looking perfect in your wedding photos. Your wedding is designed to be the happiest day of your life, and you want your wedding album to reflect that.

Here are some tips to help you avoid any photography pitfalls, and to give you that extra reassurance that your photographs will turn out beautifully…

Do your research to choose an extraordinary theme for your wedding photos

Reading as many Asian wedding blogs and magazines as possible before your big day is a sure-fire way to feel prepared for your ceremony. Almost all weddings have a theme, with outfits, decorations and centrepieces to match. Some couples opt to elevate this theme with stylised wedding shoots. You may want to recreate the luxury of old-world glamour or modernise a traditional ceremony with contemporary flourishes.

Your wedding photography can advise you on how to best achieve that style. Our bespoke packages are designed to meet any needs you have, including evoking unique and stunning themes.

Choose the best location for getting ready for documentary photography

You might choose to get ready at your venue, a nearby hotel, or even at home. It’s entirely up to you, and many brides choose a room for its interior style. But the look and location of the room are not always the most important thing – it’s all about practicality.

The moments when you’re getting ready for your wedding always make for incredibly special wedding photos. Choosing a room big enough for your bridal party, with good natural light, is key. Keeping that room tidy and clutter-free is also a must for stunning professional photos.

The focus of wedding photography is always the couple

This may sound obvious, but the photographer’s focus is the bride and groom. Weddings can be hectic for everyone in attendance, and you don’t want disorganised guests disrupting your essential shots. Your bridal party should be ready before you, so that the photographer can create beautiful shots of them adding the finishing touches to your saree or lehengha. Encourage your guests by letting them know when and where they’re need for photographs – this will avoid any chaos that group photos can sometimes cause.

Lighting makes all the difference

Lighting may just be the most important factor in ensuring gorgeous wedding photos. The bright candescence of natural light, with no harsh yellow overtones, is ideal for capturing you at your best in close-ups. When getting ready, encourage your hair or makeup artist to work in front of a window. This will both help them create amazing, detailed looks, and will allow your photographer to shoot their work in all its glory.

Uplighting adds a touch of drama to interiors shot in the evening, such as banquet halls and dancefloors. For romantic exterior shots, mason lanterns or string lights are popular.

Our expert Asian wedding photographers will ensure that you have nothing to worry about on your big day. They want you to feel as relaxed as possible, so that you can enjoy the occasion. But nagging nerves are a completely natural part of getting married. Following this advice should give you that extra confidence in your wedding shoot and result in the wedding album of your dreams.

What to look for in your future Asian Wedding Photographer

Photography is one of the most important parts of a wedding. After the special day is over, the thing you will always be able to look back on is your wedding photography.  This is why it’s so important to choose the Asian wedding photographer that can capture your day perfectly. Here are some of the aspects to look for when choosing a photographer.

Photography is one of the most important parts of a wedding. After the special day is over, the thing you will always be able to look back on is your wedding photography.  This is why it’s so important to choose the Asian wedding photographer that can capture your day perfectly. Here are some of the aspects to look for when choosing a photographer.

Online Portfolio

Consider their online presence – do they have plenty of examples from their portfolio to view online? Being able to see images from previous weddings not only gives you a guidance to the photographer’s skill and experience, but also the styles of photography that they offer.

Asian Wedding Photography Experience

One of the most important things you will want to consider when searching for your Asian wedding photographer is their experience. If you’re after a professional level of stunning wedding photography, you want evidence that your photographer is up to the job.

Seeing the final pictures is one of the best methods to consider whether the photographer reaches the standards you are after, but you may also want to look further into the photographer’s length of time in the industry, qualifications and awards. Of course, qualifications and numbers of years in the business does not mean these photographers are necessarily better – which is why being able to see plenty of examples of wedding photos is so important – but these extra additions such as awards can show you how recommended a particular Asian wedding photographer is.

Client Testimonials

This ties in closely to experience and photo examples – look for reviews and testimonials from previous clients. Aside from having a professional photographer at your wedding to produce beautiful, high-quality photos, you also want a photographer that you can get along with and doesn’t add any extra pressure or stress to the wedding day. By reading testimonials you can get a real sense of the attitude and approach of the Asian wedding photographer you’re considering.

Budget

It’s very important to consider your budget when choosing your Asian wedding photographer. You want to firstly find a photographer that can accommodate your budget, as well as ensuring you’re clear on your maximum spends to avoid any disappointment in the future; Be sure to find out exactly what you will receive from your given budget.

Photography Style & Approach

Everyone will have an idea of what their dream wedding photography will look like. Whether you’ve decided what style you’re looking for or you are still researching your options, make sure to consider which Asian wedding photographer offers the approach you are after.

As previously mentioned, the ability to view an Asian wedding photographer’s portfolio online means not only can you appreciate and consider the photographer’s level of experience and skill, but also see what styles and approaches they offer. This is useful for both ensuring they offer what you are after, or if you are undecided on a style these portfolios can give you plenty of inspiration.

Timescales

Once your special day is over, you’ll be eagerly looking forward to receiving your wedding images. It’s important to confirm with your Asian wedding photographer how long it will take to receive the images so you can try save your excitement for the right time. With professional wedding photography you must remember the editing process that happens after your wedding, as your photographer will want your images to be perfect and high-quality.
